If it Ain't Broke . . .

If all else fails, either quit or try something different.  I am sick of the “Update” box flashing on & off every time the autosave cuts in.  I shall write this in Word then transfer it.  Now I’m old-fashioned enough to believe that ‘improvements’ should be done to make something actually BETTER, not just to change things

If it is slow, it is bound to be one of the *improvements*

Lots of so called Improvements come under the ' Keeping Up With The Jones' variety,of not so much actually improving,as in making better, but improving so we are cool and with it,and the same as everyone else.
