    I came across this in a blog I check fairly regularly (cos I like his style, & the recipes!)

chef: well, there’s a lot of reasons
chef: i mean, roses only last like a couple weeks

Good point.

H gives me a tremendous amount, which I appreciate, & appreciate him for it all the more, but I'd still really appreciate flowers once in a while which he went & chose for me himself, rather than just letting me go buy them with his money!

Not at all. It merely shows that however much I have I'd still, occasionally, like more. The problem is with me, not him, or you.
