Fic jumped in my head, wouldn't let go. Sort-of for salarta, but mostly for myself - working out some things for that as-yet-untitled (and may-not-even-happen) Cecil/Rosa in-game fic I want to write

Okay, apparently LJ hates me. I had a nice, big comment that I tried to post and instead of posting it, it went "lolno" on me.

I loved it. Is it bad that I laughed at when Cecil realized how odd his trip up Mount Ordeals was?

The story left me with a strange soapy-clean feeling, which I know sounds weird, but that's how I'd describe it. I also like how the characters have problems that you can actually expect them to have based on what happened in the game, since people tend to either think Cecil and Rosa are perfect, give them problems they don't actually have or are unlikely for them to have, or exaggerate certain flaws way in excess of what they really are. It's refreshing to see a more reasonable and realistic portrayal of that. :)

I'm glad! I was afraid I was getting much too dramatic for them, but I see from the comments so-far that I'm doing alright. I'm glad they're realistic; that's what I'm going for. Like I said to Rina below, I really like dealing with the baggage characters have, and I seriously think the three of them would have so much freaking baggage to deal with.

I love that Paladinship doesn't really heal him, and I love the bit about will she still love him when he has nothing left for her to heal. as you know I am not really much for this pairing in the concrete (as opposed to the abstract angst of Kain) but I love this, and how much is between them. Also Kain is totally not listening to them HE'S WATCHING FOR MONSTERS RLY.

I just imagine all three of them as having so much baggage, which is really why I want to write this unnamed fic (which would be more like Cecil/Rosa/Kain/Angst OT4 than anything). You know how much I love baggage. XD

It is written clearly across her face now: her desire to do something by herself, to prove she was good enough, to do the saving rather than to be the saved. Rosa is a White Wizard in much more than name: she has always wanted to be the protector, not the protected.

And this is why I love Rosa oh so much and wish there was more about her out there. Really, my heart goes out for that type of person. And I adore Cecil/Rosa, as it strikes me as a very tangible relationship, much moreso than a lot of others in FF games (it's second only to Cid/Edea in my mind, if that says ANYTHING) so I am gleeful as all hell that you're writing about it.

This is not too drama-queeny, either. I kind of love that kind of language. I also appreciate this is not ANGSTY, either, as it can easily fall into that. Regretful, maybe.

I want to write you pages and pages of a love letter, as I am a weirdo in that I love paladins and white wizards and the fact they are morally ambiguous too and maybe it doesn't always have to be about the broody ones

evil!Rosa has been tossed around by people from time to time. I LOVE the idea so long as it's done right. If done right, it can show just how much power Rosa really has and highlight the good traits of her actual character in the game, among many great things.

Obviously if done wrong (usually by someone with something against the character), it just gets used to make her look bad. I'm excited for the possibility of the first one, not too keen on the second.

I think there's going to be at least a few "Rosa evil/corrupt" things on the horizon since she comes off so good and pure to people that they're dying for her to take a fall and be a bad girl for a bit.

Lovely! I love that Cecil is not really feeling all that ordained and holy, and he fears Rosa might not want him anymore if she can't heal him...

Yeah, I can't really imagine Cecil and Rosa just getting back together and sliding easily right into their old relationship - not when Cecil has to deal with being a Paladin, and Rosa's got her own issues to deal with. :P
