Finally Messilla from you after months and this was just so beautiful, I can't tell you.
I read a pretty reliable report recently where Dr. Cugat said that it was totally up to David to decide when to return and that he was mature enough not to hurry it. And even Leo (who hardly ever says anything) has said "He is a very clever player, he creates a lot of chances to score. We have missed him".
Coming back to this, it made me feel so so much better. Praying for more Messilla from you shortly.
“Just think what it’s going to be like,” he says, “Next year. If I’m back, and if Alex can stay healthy…” Ugh, this! This year wasn't fun at all with all the injuries, so here's hoping that everything will be good next season.
I adored this. Heartbreaking yet hopeful at the same time. Absolutely lovely.
“When,” Leo interrupts him, straightening up. “Not if. When.” It’s dangerous, usually, to think that way, in definites, especially when it comes to football, but Leo is going to allow himself that, just for tonight, just for now. My favourite line, along with “We missed you out there,” he says finally, and does not allow his voice to break. What he means is, I missed you, I miss not being alone up there, and maybe David gets it because he cuffs a hand around the back of Leo’s neck and touches their foreheads together briefly.
I want David to come back :'( but I'm worried that he won't get much playing time...even before his injury, he was playing second fiddle to Alexis. And then with Cesc and Ibrahim and Cuenca and now Tello...
like you said, it's dangerous to get your hopes up in football :(
my understanding is that he actually cracked his leg last may, so that's why he wasn't playing much in the fall/never really seemed to find his form. as much as i already adore cuenca and tello, there's no way they should be playing in CL semi-finals and clasicos! so hopefully the babies can go back to less stressful things and villa can be our big game player again :)
