Oh wow. This was fantastic. I'm still getting my toes wet in Troy fandom, and I've never been sure I could get behind Hector/Achilles, but the tagline ("Tonight, my brother, I am all the enemy I need") was intriguing as hell, and I'm really glad I sat down to read this one. It was great. I love the little pieces of description (Hector poking at the fire and the resulting sparks), the attempt at easy dialogue (Achilles's question about the horses), the urgency of the ending, with both of them looking for a different particular sort of "match"... very, very nice. Thank you!
