I didn't know you write fiction; I was so happy to see this in my feed! This is bittersweet, but it's really lovely. I like that it's hopeful for him, rather than totally devastating, which is so often how he's portrayed.

That was a very tender little story. The imagery was strong, the emotions subtle, but real. Nice job!
