Shameless

Was looking for a comparison. I saw the first episode of the US version of Shameless. Thought it was weak. Did they stick close to the british version? Is the british version a lot better?

us vs. uk, tv

They stuck very close to the first episode of the original. I thought the US version was pretty blah too, and the greatest weakness was their Fiona and Steve.

Yeah. The Skins version looks likes its going to be bad. Haven't watched any of the trailers for the US version of Being Human. I have a feeling its going to be aweful as well.

We seem to fuck up all remakes. Bring human looks terrible, maybe because I'm used to the other characters. Skins seems like the same exact thing as the uk one. They just dont compare in my eyes.

The US version is just miscast from top to bottom. It's such an outrage. I'm not even bothering to watch it.

Last Saturday's "Guardian" listings supplement had a great deal of fun with the general idea of American remakes of British programmes. It went hilariously OTT but said much the same as a recent "New York Times" article; boils down that American versions aren't as edgy.
