facebook rant & ann arbor protest

Facebook is getting offers from Yahoo; apparently they rejected the first offer of 1.4 billion, and are waiting for an offer of 2 million. I'm actually sort of disappointed that they're even thinking of selling, because then some big corporation can take it over, and turn it into next myspace. Oh, and EFFECTIVE TODAY, they're opening it up to the ( Read more... )

I could never get on it 'cause I'm not a member of anything. And I have a few friends who are on it.

why do you say its about fucking time? you could have easily gotten an invite from someone who is already apart of facebook, but not be apart of any network. it's still super limited to non-students, so i don't even understand what their intentions were. regional network? can only search for people who live in your area? too much hassle if you ask me. friendster is more or less like facebook, only open to the public. can't you use that? i guess i'm just saying unless you are (or were and are taking a break) a student, then the networks will bore you. and i'm not sure about now, but before you had to use real names and have at least your first name displayed and last initial. NPR was saying that the public members, although they'll be apart of a "different" network, will still have the same rules. first and last names.

That thing about the dude who was preaching is like what use to happen at Grand Valley State University here on the west side of the state. When I was a freshman and sophomore he would be out there for WEEKS at a time! He would roam around campus and have HUGE signs he would carry that said "FAGS FILL HELL" and all this shit. We always wondered what happened to him, cause nobody has seen him in a few years. His name was Preacher Tom.

Oh, well these guys are Michael Venyah and Chris Lemeiux. Venyah being the main preacher. I wonder if they're apart of the same church though.
