thanks to you all for your sympathy.  the tough part is tomorrow and saturday, but it's been so very wonderful to catch up with family i haven't seen in a while and family i don't see more than just email and facebook/myspace communication.  bittersweet but oh so nice.

holy crap!  kent was sposed to take one of those targetted british flights back to the states!  he's fine, stuck in miami right now b/c he missed his connecting flight to lax after rebooking out of madrid and is on standby for the last flight coming into la tonite.  he may end up spending the nite in another airport but at least he's stateside this ( Read more... )

the holiday weekend is over, and of course, work was not pleasant to walk into this morning.

friday nite, i picked up shelby and headed to burbank for becky's 30th birthday.  it was great seeing her again, and we had a fab time indulging in dinner and dessert at the elephant bar.   can't wait for everyone to meet her.  the car search is on!

shelbyg gave me quite the scare friday nite but THANKFULLY he is okay; tis but a scratch for the fact that his travel companion is crushed.  i try not to think about the "what ifs," but it is hard to forget when i see the seatbelt bruise on the back of his shoulder and the superficial lacerations on his hands.  i am so very happy he is safe and unharmed.
