Someone "took" my fathers grave!!!!

I’m completely devastated. Today I took the kids out to see my father grave. My father died in 1990 when I was 18 years old so my kids have never met him, but they have always visited his grave with me, and they know this is where Granddad is buried. Oh, no!!! I'm so sorry this happened! Is there a supervisory organization that has responsibility for the graveyard? Someone has to know what happened, and you surely deserve answers.

I don't know where you live, but you should go to the Funeral Home that was used to bury your father and ask them what happened and where he is....that is so bizarre....I have never heard of such!

What the hell? Did you contact the cemetery about this??? It is their job to make sure the grounds are protected from looters! Have you contacted the police? What grounds for action do you have to have them at least replace the stone if it cannot be located by the police? Aren't there surveillance cameras somewhere on the property, like at the entrance?

I'm so sorry. You really should contact the police. It *is* a crime, and maybe they did it to more than one person so maybe an investigation can find out something. And as Betz says, maybe the stone at least can be replaced so you can have some place to mourn him, some way to commemorate him. I'm so sorry.
