Stargate Atlantis; Art Imitating Life; Lorne; G awanderingbard August 27 2008, 17:24:16 UTC
Lorne wasn’t really psychic. That involved mind-reading and seeing dead people. He wasn’t clairvoyant; that involved seeing things already in progress when you weren’t at the scene. He knew this because he had looked up those terms in a dictionary years ago. He’d settled on ‘precognitive’ (adjective, having knowledge of a future event or situation, esp. through extrasensory means ( ... )

Hee, that's a great idea! Of course, on Atlantis there aren't too many happy things to draw about, but I guess that makes it even better.

Thanks! I guess I'm thought more of things that make Lorne happy than happy things in general. Maybe his team is less often imperil than our main heros? And you can imagine team, like, 53, consists entirely of cooks who go on missions to find cucumbers or something. Thanks for commenting!

Every window in Owen Harper's flat was open as far as it would go, several old fashioned fans, that he had liberated from work, whirred noisily away. He had set them up on the floor, hoping to provide a pleasant breeze around his feet-he hated it when they felt hot and sweaty ( ... )

You know Owen- he's good at prioritising! Don't want to think about what's over overheating in the hub after he half inched those fans though.

Being Human; One piece scavanger hunt; George; Gen amaresu August 27 2008, 19:47:31 UTC
The first time he found one was the morning after the full moon. He was getting dressed and it was laying on the bottom of his bag. He took it out and look at it before deciding to ask Mitchell about it when he showed up. Mitchell ended up being almost an hour late and by the point he was so annoyed he'd forgotten about the dog biscuit ( ... )

Qui-Gon was not a man easy to surprise. Apprentices had been trying for years to startle him, but until that morning, he had been reasonably confident of his ability to cope with whatever came his way in a calm, cool and collected manner ( ... )

Some point along the line, Simon has the bright idea to try reading to River. Nothing intellectually challenging - he knows that anything he found would make no impression upon his genius sister - but comforting stories. Stories that civilisations told, that have been passed down from centuries, millennia even. Stories that have history. He thinks that they will make her think about them instead of the Academy, instead of the mad thoughts that swirl inside her head and make her see things differently ( ... )

Oh, wonderful! I love the brother/sister dynamic of Simon and River and you've captured it perfectly. You've done a great job getting inside River's head too, which is no mean feat. Awesome job!

Thank you! I have a huge soft spot where it comes to River and Simon, I'll admit, and so when I saw the prompt I had to write for it. Which would be my first attempt at Firefly fic. Huh. But I am glad you enjoyed it, and that you found my River believable. :)
