Good luck with the swimming. Hope you find a lifebelt soon. With any luck, over the course of time you'll start to figure out his patterns and at least be able to doggy-paddle.

(Well, it's your own fault. You started the metaphor. You can't complain if I run away with it.)

Here's hoping. Treading water is getting me nowhere. ;)

I don't agree.

So far, only one of the five courses I'm taking is posing a problem, and I've only had *one* class so far (it's once a week).

When I'm taking the higher courses, I have a strong sense of inadequecy, that I have (somehow) snuck into a class where I don't belong. So I kept my mouth shut in an effort not to give myself away.

As of next week, I won't be doing that. Now that I realise that other people are in the same boat, I'll be speaking up and seeking to dispel my confusion.

As for Japanese: I memorised everything I need to know last night. My previous course not fully matching what it was supposed to is no longer a concern.

I've been through some philosophy of language stuff, and it honestly starts to make sense - usually when you stop trying to think too hard.

Swim, Bri, Swim! :)

*hugs*

Everybody says "swim", I say "learn to breathe underwater".
You're doing the work, you'll get by.

I do sympathise, I have had some (broadly) similar experiences. They do, mightily, suck.
