Not meaning to be glib, but welcome to University :/

I fully intended Chemistry to be one of my major subjects in college, it being far and away my best subject in school (never got less than an A1, until my actual LC of course ;)). However I could not follow the First Year uni classes at all. We were told - quite literally, in as many words - to forget everything we'd done regarding certain subjects (mostly Organic Chemistry and whatever it is that talks about atoms and orbitals etc etc) at LC level, as that wasn't actually how it worked at all, but it was just taught that way as an easier introduction than jumping straight in to the mega-complicated way the world *actually* worked (No, I have no idea how learning the wrong thing was supposed to help either, but how and ever)

You will struggle, but if Uni isn't at least som sort of struggle, then someone's doing something wrong. It's not meant to be a breeze, and those of us who've usually found education up to now to be fairly breeze-like tend to get the bigger wake-up call than those who've always struggled.

I don't agree.

So far, only one of the five courses I'm taking is posing a problem, and I've only had *one* class so far (it's once a week).

When I'm taking the higher courses, I have a strong sense of inadequecy, that I have (somehow) snuck into a class where I don't belong. So I kept my mouth shut in an effort not to give myself away.

As of next week, I won't be doing that. Now that I realise that other people are in the same boat, I'll be speaking up and seeking to dispel my confusion.

As for Japanese: I memorised everything I need to know last night. My previous course not fully matching what it was supposed to is no longer a concern.
