Royal Wedding

I slept for a few hours last night, and at 2:30 a.m. Pacific Time my alarm went off, I woke up the household, and the three of us (Jess, the kidlet, and myself) all piled into one bed in our pajamas to watch the wedding. ended up watching BBC America coverage.. they also carried the BBC feed on PBS down in here in LA; I switched back to MSNBC once in a while but they are way too chatty.. I've heard the CNN coverage was crap. One wonders why they bother to call themselves a news channel anymore.

I really loved the ceremonies though.. and Kate's dress was so classy.. and they look like they really are happy together, so hopefully it'll last. Nine years is a long time to get to know someone.

I only got to see a bit, because it coincided with the time that I have to be up and out for work. What I did see, on NBC, had no commentary, which was lovely.

She is very pretty anyway, but my goodness, she was stunning. I've been reading some of the little "factoids" about the flowers, the jewelry, all that neat stuff.

May they have many happy years together.

I am glad that they are finally married and hopefully the world can move on.

Her dress was gorgeous. The kiss was adorkable. Don't care where they go on their honeymoon as long as they have fun and get some rest from the bleeding press.

Funny thing; earlier today while at a restaurant I made the comment that I am glad it's all finally over and a lady at a nearby table gasped and told me I was being quite unpatriotic. I told her I wasn't British that I was in fact American even though I have British blood in my veins and the lady quite seriously informed me that so were they.

Even her husband looked startled as was our waitress. I just left that one alone. And no, she was in fact American (by the sounds of her she was from Texas--just saying) and not visiting Brits.

'Fraid one of the Brits on your blog is a republican (guess who?)

I thankfully managed to avoid the whole sorry, expensive display of aristocratic privilege and the coming police state.

A bas les aristos! Ca ira!
