This was kind of heartbreaking, I mean it was beautifully crafted but poor Sammy. Finally realising that actually, trouble isn't something exclusively to do with 'The Family Business' and that the knowledge he gains whilst working with or watching his brother and father, that causes just as much trouble as anything else.

Oh noes!!! Poor Sammy!!
He thinks he is old enough to to cope with "normal life" but he really isn't.
I loved that this really felt like an 11 year old Sammy.

Ooh, I'm so glad it really felt like 11-year-old Sam! I love love love the way Colin Ford played him, as so confident despite his age, and I always end up bringing that into my young-Sam fics.

It probably would have been a longer fic, but I had someplace to be! Glad you'd have liked to keep reading. Thanks!

So sad and heartbreaking! You crafted this tale perfectly, letting Sam revel in his own independence and living a normal life, to realizing that he's just not 'normal', and that he stands out no matter what.

You captured Sam perfectly, especially at the tender age. Thank you so much for sharing :)

I was inspired by a line from Fall Out Boy's "Save Rock 'n' Roll": "Wherever I go, trouble seems to follow," and I thought, "That's Sammy." I just can't get enough of writing young Sam.
