My first YouTube violation!

Sep 23, 2007 07:53

Well, I have finally joined the ranks of the YouTube violators!  Took over a year since I started vidding - I feel almost special to finally be amongst the persecuted ;)  My Burn Notice - Die Another Day vid was reported, not by the record company, but by 20th Century Fox Film Corporation.  That came as a surprise.  I didn't even realize 20th ( Read more... )

haha if I wasn't an evil copyright infringer myself, that sounds like my kind of job, easy work for the most part :P

Hopefully it doesn't pay well ;) It sounds kinda dull to me, but it would be a good summer job!

haha yeah. I wouldn't want a job to do with computers anyway; it'd take away from the fun from surfing the net I think

Oh no Brig! They got you too??

Those b*stards.

Well as a multi-infraction Youtube violator, let me just say...I feel ya.

Why companies feel the need to pull 4 min fanvids promoting their show/song I will never understand. But dude! if you do find out that they pay people to go patrol Youtube and find offending videos let me know! I need a job and I'd be SO good at that!

Of course, I'd have to ignore all the Supernatural vids ;)

Yep, me too! I didn't know you were up to multiple violations...you are such the rebel ;) I know, it's total BS to yank fanvids. I'm adding that to my list of things I would do if I had my own network - not yank fanvids.

I'm sure they do pay someone to do it, because there were several "official" vids left.

Well apparently FOX has been on the rampage as I just read a couple other posts about people having their vids yanked. Which makes me kinda scared cause I was just going to do a vid using Dark Angel scenes and well...not sure how good of an idea that is now :S I already had one vid permanently removed, one vid muted indefinitely, and another that was removed but finally allowed back.

So my little rebel self should probably be on its best behavior ;)

Well, now it's WB...I got 3 more violations from them today. So my account will probably be deleted here in the not so distant future.

Make your vid! You could just not post it on YT or do it anyway, and if it gets yanked, well...you still made it! I'm thinking about Imeem now...

Oh yeah, you're official now :) *hugs*
They got many people that day. Sounds like ambush.

I'd completely forgotten that 20th Century Fox owned FX, which is what The Riches is on (my vid that was deleted). If any network is going to get its panties in a bunch over copyright, it's FOX. Ugh.

I'm surprised so many of us were notified on the same day. Surely that's not just one person's job!

*high fives you*
I think we're legitimate vidders now. :D

What is it with FOX? They piss me off in multiple ways, too. And I truly think that's someone's job. Cuz almost every Burn Notice clip was yanked.

*high five*
