Day 3

Aug 11, 2008 09:34

Lots of knitting yesterday... watched taped stuff in the morning, then at night I watched mostly Olympics with a pause for Big Brother 10. The guy who couldn't believe Brett Favre came out of retirement and was traded to the Jets was funny. And Redskins get to play the Jets this weekend!

I can haz pocket nao! )

I am quite impressed with your knittery!

I did not know that about Favre. Hmm. I thought Sean kept me up-to-date on all the big football news.
I will wish good outcomes for the Redskins for you!

You should see if there are knitting groups you could join near school. The knitters I've met here don't care if you're doing mostly scarves rather than more complicated things, and it would give you a pre-made group of people to go out and do things with (assuming they meet at coffeshops etc).

That's a good idea. :) I will look into it if/when I manage to get my academics under control, heh. (I hate that here are advance readings/assignments that make me feel as if I'm playing catch-up from the start. Not a good feeling.)

My jaw literally dropped when I saw that stained glass pattern! That's really going to be an amazing piece of work.

The scope of it might hide the flaws, but I'd really like to knock out the flaws before I get started cutting.

I was just realizing this morning that the $1000 or more of glass I've bought for this project (all four panels combined) was probably a good investment, because I pretty much had everything bought about 2 yrs ago. I beat the 35% inflation that glass has gone through over the past couple of years! *nod* That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Lucky you! I wish I'd bought more silver a few years ago; as it is, I'm going to have to really raise prices to cover using it. I'm so glad two of my favourite techniques look just as good or better on copper!

With the number of news reports I hear about people frying themselves in substations trying to steal copper wiring, I gather copper isn't cheap anymore either. =(
