And I have a voice! I can talk! Without damaging my vocal chords. Which is always a good thing. Since I'm terrible at not forcing the talking when I have no voice. My friend, who is a speech pathologist, keeps reminding me - quite firmly - that I need to not do that

Wasn't it just exquisite? At the end, I didn't know if I wanted to weep for all involved, because of everything that happened to the characters, the deceptions and sorrow and evil, or applaud, because the film was so extraordinarily well done. On one level, I knew the film wasn't in English, because I had to read the subtitles, but the film was so engrossing that, in the end, I forgot that I was reading them. I was so immersed in the story and the characters and the utter beauty of the water and scenery.

The film was actually filmed in Sri Lanka, due to resistance in India over the subject matter of the film and its critical stance toward hinduism. Regardless, it would be ace to travel there. Especially to travel with you.
