Pluses and minuses

So, I'm about an hour from England as I write this. (I'll post it sometime after I get there.) Getting to this point, however, was something of an adventure.

We booked our flight on an airline called MaxJet. They're practically brand-new-just opened in November. They only have two planes, and only two routes: New York-London and Washington- ( Read more... )

After seven hours sitting five feet from your partner on the way to (say) your honeymoon without being able to do anything, I'd imagine a lot of couples are ready to jump each other in the arrivals lounge shower. Certainly the couple sitting in front of me got in a few long snogs during the flight.

Dude, where in England are you going to be? I've been staying with Psi's family near London and we're planning to get together with Vor and Tohru next Monday...

I'm in London today, but I'm studying for my exam, so I don't have time to meet up with anyone. The rest of the time I'll to be in Oxford, and I'll be doing school during the day, but most of my nights will be free.

If you come into London, make sure you go to the crepe cart near the Hampstead tube stop. It's my favorite place in the world to eat.

Oh, I've been in London. Toured around a bit, and taking the trains through it to other destinations, so as Leicester for Amecon, vorlon010's house, etc.

I'm only here until Thursday, so I dunno how much more time I have for visits and such outside of what we've already planned.

That is how I roll :)

Virgin kicks Americans ass in every aspect, but a quick correction, Upper Class is actually Business Class not First Class. Virgin does not offer a traiditional First Class product (BA and AA both do).

A full fare roundtrip NYC-LHR in UC is going set you back around 8k at least, the discounted ones are around 4k.

After a flight from SFO to LHR I love the revivals lounge, I ask them to wake up 15 minutes before landing and then I avoid the food aboard and eat in the lounge

The flight attendents have a VPL guidline.

And you forgot to mention there is an onboard bar :)

If that's their idea of business class, it's no wonder-first class would have to include sexual favors.

When we were waiting in the departure lounge, I looked up one-way, one adult, flexible schedule, three months in advance; it came to nearly $5k. Later, in the arrivals lounge, I looked up round-trip, one adult, non-flexible, two weeks in advance (so it's closer to summer), and I think that was $11k. Fun stuff.

There is, but I didn't use it-I don't drink much, even when the alcohol's free.
