(Offers tissue) Hopefully they're good tears--healing tears. It is interesting, though, how all the intense memorial pieces sort of came out at once. So, have a good cry and remember a wonderful character.
I read this fic all at once last night. I must apologise for not commenting on each part, but (to your credit) I couldn't put this fic down. You pinned me to my seat. I felt more foreboding with each chapter just knowing how this relationship would end
( ... )
Wow, thanks for all the great feedback! It means a lot to know that a writer I respect so much appreciated my characterizations in this fic. You picked up on a lot of nuances that I wasn't sure were coming through

Heartbreaking. I love the way you have Adama give Gaeta this last bit of support in the end. It's such a personal thing to ask for, wanting to get rid of that prosthetic, and Adama has never been overly interested in Gaeta's personal needs before. I would like to see that kind of show of respect in one of the next episodes. Adama still bothers me. I completely understand why he had to execute Gaeta but I'd like to watch him realize for once that he's at fault just as much as Gaeta.
Thank you for writing this. I'm looking forward to reading more of your fic. :)
Thanks for the lovely review! It's good to hear that this scene struck a chord with you. I was trying to show all the things you mentioned--Adama breaking down the barriers, offering support at the last. I also wanted to show that this was a sort of death for both of them--Felix loses everything, but Adama loses the assurance that his crew is his family.
I do love the 2 characters and the mutiny arc broke my heart.
I was so mad at Felix and I was so mad at Adama!...
Felix because he didn't try to understand Adama's point of view and why and how. And Adama because he didn't see Felix had hard time with all of that!...
They were both right and they both stand with their strong belief they are going to do the right thing even if for both of them the decision is painfull ( even physically pain)
Your characterization is very good.
I especially loved chapter 1 and chapter 6.
I always thougth there were a lot of admiration and trust and caring between the 2, and it's nice to end with that.
I hope you will keep writing them, I search for fics with them, but never found until now.
Thanks for the great review! Believe me, I'm right there with you. I don't play favorites in BSG (unlike certain characters who shall remain unnamed). I love them all equally, so when they start shooting at each other, a little piece of me breaks. I'm glad you enjoyed these characterizations.
I think it was great to mention that scene after "Collaboration", it makes perfect sense for Adama to still trust Gaeta.
He made agesture of comfort because he is very bad with words. He doesn't know what to say, so he is showing instead.
Yeah that part is great too, and Gaeta, being unsure, being sad and upset was so in character.
Thank you again.
Unlike you I have a favorite (Bill Adama). Yes. But, that doesn't mean I don't love other characters because I don't think my fav character was always right and all the others are fools. NO.
And it's why I didn't understand why so much people were hating Adama so much, and other Gaeta so much...
My heart is still broken... Poor Gaeta! Poor Bill.
You can see in last episode how much the repair of Galactica costs him again (booze and pill, again).
I'll admit, this whole fic started with my almost morbid curiosity. Then, this image grew out of that curiosity and the image spawned more images, and it somehow became a fic. It's good to hear that it resonated with you.
God, the Gaeta community has turned into a right little place of heartbreak, hasn't it?
I know what you mean. In the fic I wrote about the aftermath of the executions, I considered having an Adama section... but I couldn't do it. I couldn't find a way in. You found a way in, and you did it beautifully.
No problem. Please keep writing. Your work is lovely.

How I saw Bill and Felix.

Thank you, I hope to read more about them.

I admit, I wondered how Felix got to that chair without his prosthetic. You just ripped my heart to shreds.
I don't have words. I really don't have words. Just... Well done.
