Wow, thanks for all the great feedback! It means a lot to know that a writer I respect so much appreciated my characterizations in this fic. You picked up on a lot of nuances that I wasn't sure were coming through.
CH2) This has always struck me as Bill's reaction to everything and everyone--even the people he's closest to. He's not touchy-feely, it's always "pull yourself together or else." Not the best father figure in general.
CH3) Bill got a good deal out of this, yes, but Felix had a point about there not being a shortage of officers once everybody from Pegasus and everybody who'd mustered out was back on Galactica. So, while Bill gets a good officer back, I think his primary motivation was to make a gesture.
CH4) Yeah, "out of his frakking mind" pretty much sums it up, but Felix is WAY too polite to say it like that.
CH5) I read your fic and it was quite exceptional. Your point about Adama not wanting to let Zarek be the martyr was particularly insightful. You did a better job of mixing the anger with the remorse--Adama's rage is one of the character traits I struggle to portray.
CH6) I can't thank you enough for all your kind words. This scene just resonated with me, and it's good to know it affected you as well.
