Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, everyone! I still owe a fic for fraternizing, and it's supposed to be posted by today (...oops), so that might be coming later. I hope. But if not, this is my last post of 2007, and I think this is an appropriate one. :D

5: What fandoms do you think you might let go of in 2008 unless things significantly improve?
House, maybe? I don't know; I'm just not as invested in House anymore. I don't WANT to let it go - it was one of my first fandoms! But something changed, and it doesn't make me passionate anymore.
I am so with you. The show has changed, I don't care about the newbies, my favorite characters are barely on, and I simply am not interested anymore. But I think that the actual act of giving it up would be worse than not watching new episodes, and most of my flist/communities are related to House in some way, as are all my favorite fic writers... starting with a new fandom seems so exhausting to me! As for Grey's Anatomy - I liked the show, but was never into the online world, so that was easy enough for me to give up. And there was no competition once The Office got moved to the same timeslot ( ... )

Hi! Missed you too! But it's ok - things get really busy around December. I just use LJ to avoid the business, so your way is probably better. :D

I think I probably will keep watching House, and I've pretty much given up the fandom anyway: I read fanfic, yes, but I don't look for it, I don't write it anymore, and I've officially stopped watching house_cameron because OH MY GOD that community has gotten annoying. I just hope the episodes don't get to the point where I can't stand to watch it anymore. It's still on just after Bones, so I might as well keep watching. :P (But then, I'm not really active in Bones fandom, either - they scare me! I just interact when I write fic.)

And as you said: The Office at the same time as Grey's Anatomy? No question for me. Overall, probably not the best thing for ratings, but that was an easy decision for me. :D

You gave up one community? Ha! I am a TRIshipper (my way of insuring my happiness with the show!), so I watch the House/Wilson, House/Cuddy, and House/Cameron communities. The House/Cuddy community makes me the craziest, and the quietest, ironically, is the Chase/Cameron community - the one ship that's canon!

Are the ratings for The Office really bad? I think the NBC execs know that any show will take a dip in ratings when pitted against of the Big Bads of TV, but NBC Thursday is generally known and respected for its quality of comedy, so I guess it's a sign of faith (?) that The Office is in that particular slot. Plus, I remember reading an article about a new NBC exec, saying how big a fan he was. Yay for supporters in high places. ;)

I'm with you on 3,6,7,8 HAHA

3. I didn't make it past the Supernatural pilot because of weird huge fire CGI, or something. Can't remember lol.

6. I totally ♥ the cast too much. (But I'm still scared the writers may fall into total shipper land = destroy B/B chemistry)

7. I surprised myself picking it up because it was actually something I watched for fun during the break when there were no more episodes of Grey's.

8. Sniff, it was the FIRST thing I got into but it got so bad that I really had to give it up. I miss S1. S3: Too many characters, 3 episode ferry boat arc o.O, SPIN-OFF, trying to squeeze in the word "sex" into every line. I don't get why it's getting noticed for S3, which is the worst season imo. Sadly, I'm following S4 but with much lower expectations.

6. Hah, I'm a little afraid of that, too. But Angela and Hodgins just keep getting cuter (and I didn't think that was entirely possible), and I think David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel just have intense enough chemistry that even if the dialogue falls apart (please please please no), it still won't be that bad.

8. Grey's Anatomy was the fandom I was most reluctant to get into, because everyone else was. I started watching around the midpoint of season 2, when it was intense and good, and I really liked it. Apparently, I got into it at the end of the good stuff. :(

6. YES! I ♥ Michaela Conlin alot, for whatever reason idk but yay! And I'm also liking Cam alot this season.

8. DEFINITELY the end of the good stuff. Right now I'm trying to forget S3 and to me, only S1 and most of S2 happened lol.

Both of those sound really, really awesome, and this is why I wanted to get into it. And it's not the gore that bothers me (honestly, Bones doesn't gross me out at all, unless I'm eating, and that's because there's some sort of subconcious visceral reaction connecting what I see to what I eat - if I'm not eating, only the pools of liquefied flesh (Truth in the Lye, Boy in the Time Capsule) really bother me); I can't watch it for the same reason I can't watch horror movies and I was afraid to watch X-Files. They just absolutely terrify me to the point where I'm afraid at night and in the dark (I'm still afraid of the dark, like a little kid). X-Files didn't scare me that much, but the 2-3 episodes of Supernatural I've seen have terrified me, even when I was watching with other people. I wish it didn't! It sounds fantastic.
