[ There's something she recognizes from the start of the dream - perhaps from that last nightmare event, but the thought passes her mind so quickly that it doesn't even really register. Instead she watches the rest happen, through her eyes but she's fairly sure it's not her eyes. And that feeling is only confirmed the moment she suddenly seperates from the eyes, suddenly independant. ... And yet there's a feeling that she's been here this whole time.

... Strange.

But she notices the kid next to her, and she doesn't have to think much to figure out who it is. And while it's a little awkward to suddenly be left here with him like this.. ... Well, there is something adorable about it. Even if he's a green mutt thing. ]

Med'an..? [ Her tone sounds a little unsure. ]

[The boy looks up at her and wraps his skinny arms around her, comfortingly.]

It's okay, Ange. Meryl's here.

[ WELL SHE'S NOT SO SURE IF THIS IS OKAY since Med'an is babby and she's not sure what's going on, but.. well, maybe she can just go with it for now. She remembers the name from one of Med'an's many tales after all, so.. ]

I can tell you don't believe me. [HE'S JUST SAYIN'. But he doesn't seem bothered by it. It seems like he knows he's right.]

Meryl's a good person. He won't let anything happen to us.

[The beginning pings at a different memory--familiar, but before long, Chell finds herself alongside a smaller version of Med'an. Hn. This is new.

The woman allows herself to relax when she realizes how tense she had become.

What is stranger is the idea of Med'an, of anyone, really, nestled this close to her. Awkwardly, she gently rests a hand on his head.]

[The boy cuddles a little closer. He sounds as though he's trying to make sure that she's okay after that 'dream' as well.]

Meryl's always taken care of me. It's okay if he's around.

He'll bring you juice, too.

[Chell offers a small smile.] Meryl. [She commits the name to memory for the time being.] He seems very nice. [Not that she knows a thing about him.

She takes a moment to glance about the room, unused to anything more than a plain white wall. She feels...comfortable here.]

Uh-huh. He is. He adopted me.

[This room is certainly more than you'd find in the Apeture Testing Areas. It's a little cluttered, actually, but what can you expect from a kid?]

We're not related, but he still takes care of me.

[ That old face she just saw was far from ugly. It was a very familiar face and it comforted her to see Meryl's face again. She almost had forgotten that she's looking through someone else's eyes.

When she feels in control of her own body again, she leans forward to shout for Meryl to come back. Sorry if Rika moving around bothers you, little Med'an. She's kind of distracted. ]

[Little Med'an does indeed jump in surprise at Rika's shout, and puts a little hand on her little arm, concerned. Something in him is telling him that this is a weird situation - since Rika is not-Bern - but he doesn't seem to care at the moment. They're friends, at least in this dream, because he's friends with everyone.]

He'll come back! He's just getting juice!

[WHY ARE YOU FREAKING OUT ABOUT JUICE.]

[ MERYL COME BACK I WANTED WINE NOT JUICE

Rika is tempted to jump out of bed, but when she finally takes notice of the little Med'an next to her, she stays put. She doesn't seem to recognize Med'an...

It's tempting to chase Meryl down, but she doesn't think she could just leave a small child alone. ]

Ah...

[ Attempting to relax here... Meryl was going to come back after all. She glances around the room. ]

Wh, where is this?

[No wine for you, young lady. Unless the juice has gone really bad.]

It's my room.

[He seems confused at her confusion. Well, what else would this place be? It's got enough toys (and clutter) in it to certainly be a childs bedroom. And it has Meryl, which is also property of Medan. He scootches closer to her in case she needs hugging.]

That was just a bad dream. We'll be okay now.
