( + ) Critics Choice Awards! Ok, I really hate how they don't even announce half the awards like art direction, cinematography and documentaries but whatever. This show sucks so might as well make it as short as possible. Wins I loved/liked: A Separation for Foreign Film (hopefully it can break that Oscar curse where they never let the most obvious

I saw The Descendants yesterday so I finally be all "meh" about it properly! Ugh why is the race George vs. Brad? If that's what it comes down to I'd rather it be Brad, but what a boring category. Clooney is totally taking the GG - the GGs love big movie stars. Seeing The Artist tomorrow and hopefully Shame next week for the real winners in the category. A Separation doesn't come out here until the 20th I think.

Everything about The Descendants was just underwhelming. It didn't feel like a Payne film even. And George has definitely done better, but I guess it's "his time" (again, but in the lead category). I keep hoping for a last minute overtake a la DDL and Jeff Bridges but it seems like for sure a George vs. Brad race with Dujardin as potential spoiler. I honestly don't see how anyone who saw Shame could not root for Fassbender though. It's just.. so obviously better.

The best thing about the GG's will be Ricky Gervais.

To be honest the only cinematography that really stood out for me in War Horse were the war scenes. Those were done beautifully. The rest was too Gone with the wind-esq and old fashioned. Nothing out of the ordinary. Gah my dream is to see Tinker Tailor take this prize but I know it won't happen :(

A Separation was beautiful! So realistic and down-to-earth! The movie was very insightful and lovely!

hmmm your GG noms seem pretty spot on. Don't care about the animation category this year because I saw only Puss in Boots and that was pretty disappointing.
Ah I`m happy for the screenplay love MIP is getting!

'The Help' looks like it's locked for BP. I`ll try and watch it this weekend before the globes to see what the fuss is about ;)

Heh, exactly. The fact that he was chosen for the role after being on Jeopardy is just...not a good sign. However, at least it wasn't Shailene Woodley, so we must be grateful for small favors.
