Awards for everyone.

( + ) Critics Choice Awards! Ok, I really hate how they don't even announce half the awards like art direction, cinematography and documentaries but whatever. This show sucks so might as well make it as short as possible. Wins I loved/liked: A Separation for Foreign Film (hopefully it can break that Oscar curse where they never let the most obvious/acclaimed film win), Michel Hazanavicius for Best Director (he's so adorable), Plummer for Supporting Actor (awesome speech), Drive for Best Action Movie, Hugo for Art Direction. Wins I'm not so crazy about: George for Best Actor (sorry dude, it just wasn't that good. If it can't be Fassy then Jean Dujardin please!), Thomas Horn for Young Actor (This kid just bothers me for some reason. He's like way too cutesy precocious), Bridesmaids over Midnight in Paris for Best Comedy, War Horse for Cinematography (uggghhh I hated this ugly glossy over-saturated look). Overall, my Gold Rush performance was not great. I went with Chastain, Williams and Dujardin so I missed 3/4 acting categories. Oh well, I need to make up for my meh score with better GG predictions I guess.

( + ) Golden Globes this Sunday! Guess it's time for some last minute predictions/who should win since I'm pretty much done with seeing the nominees.

Best Drama - I'm going with The Descendants here. The Artist is in a different category so the main competition is gone. This category pretty much sucks though.

Best Comedy/Musical - The Artist obviously, although I'm a little scared of some crazy Bridesmaids upset.

Best Director - I'm gonna stick with Hazanavicius. People love the movie and it's seen as a "director's movie".

Best Actor (Drama) - George Clooney. If he can win the BFCA, I think HPFA should be a piece of cake but I need Fassy to pull a miracle.

Best Actress (Drama) - Tough one. I don't know how much foreign journalists will really connect with The Help, although clearly they liked it enough to nod it in BP. But I'm gonna go with Meryl for this. Davis might win the SAG and it could be a close finish for the Oscar.

Best Actor (Comedy/Musical) - Jean Dujardin.

Best Actress(Comedy/Musical) - Michelle Williams. These two should be pretty easy wins. I don't see Charlize pulling this out. That movie really turns off a lot of folks.

Best Supporting Actor - Christopher Plummer

Best Supporting Actress - I want to say Chastain. She's a hot new star and I feel like HPFA would go for that more. Spencer will more likely than not take the SAG though.

Best Screenplay - Midnight in Paris most likely. The Artist is obviously loved but not sure if they're really down with giving a screenplay award to a silent movie when you have Woody Allen's snappy dialogue here.

Best Animated Film - Rango.

Best Foreign Language Film - A Separation.
