Room 415, Saturday Afternoon

Mar 19, 2011 14:15

Typical sort of Saturday, for the most part: her workout, a call to her Watcher, a shower, and some downtime, except for the part where the call had been really short and left Kennedy scowling slightly at her phone. If Kennedy didn't know better-- if she wasn't so convinced that Constance was too, well, Constance to ever freak out about anything ( Read more... )

"Do you want to run into town?" Tara asked from the doorway. "I have a wicked Mooby fry craving."

She'd been in a good mood all week, and she still sounded cheerful. But if there was fast food with her girlfriend in her immediate future ... well, her baseline cheerfulness would kick up a notch.

"It's almost like you read my mind," Kennedy teased, looking up from her book. "Hi. Can we get shakes and burgers to go with them? Because if we can, then I am totally on board."

"I suppose," Tara sighed, a laugh bubbling under her tone as she pretended to sound very, very put out. "But no kid's meal, okay? A toy would just be going crazy."

"Aw, but." Kennedy, scrambling up off the bed to find her shoes, gave Tara a sad, exaggerated pout, although there was a definite spark of mischief in her eyes. "I really wanted a little goofy plastic thing too."

Wesley had been wanting to catch up with Kennedy and see how her conversation with Cordelia had gone, so when he saw that her door was open, he was all for coming and bothering her. Sorry, Kennedy.

"Hello," he said, poking his head inside. "Oh. Reading, are we?"

So she cracked books. Check that out.

And of her own free will sometimes, even. Try not to faint, Wes.

"Yo, Wes," Kennedy called, waving a half-eaten doughnut in his general direction. (It was half a greeting, half a not very well thought out invitation to come have one.) "Nice friends you have out in L.A., huh?"

"I take it you met Cordelia, then," he said, smiling as he made his way into the room. But yeah, he was going to go ahead and pass on that doughnut, as... appetizing as it looked. "I thought the two of you might get along."

"For a given value of getting along," Kennedy said wryly. Oh, hey. More sugar-coated goodness for her, then! Then, slightly more seriously: "She's actually pretty cool. I think she's partly convinced I'm warped in the head, but that's half the people I've met anyway, so. No big."

After another bite of doughnut, and a moment's thought, she added, "She said I should come check out the situation in L.A. eventually." Eventually was not that far away, but keeping it vague was nice.
