As a fan of the original Battlestar Galactica, I've been enjoying repeats on the Ion network recently. Spoilers for several episodes as I revel in the slash relationship between Apollo and Starbuck:
I just finished viewing a nice little arc of three of my favorite episodes, so I thought I’d comment on them.
Apollo and Starbuck are joined at the hip

Yep, I'm a huge, long-time classic BSG fan myself, (I even won a DVD box set from Canada's Space Channel for getting a trivia contest correct! I'm a geek!) and oh definitely there is tremendous slash potential between Apollo and Starbuck. Tremendous! (oh, how I remember the Triad episodes! My twin sister and I were gaga over them, and I didn't quite realize just why way back then. ) Thanks for letting me revisit those great Galactica memories! (and hey, I hope you consider writing some classic BSG slash fic sometime!)

I love the show! I knew they were a couple right away with all that great jealousy from Starbuck over Serina! ;)
Heh, those Triad uniforms are modeled after the Martian Manhunter's, I think, and Robin's. Skimpy and showing a lot of skin! ;)
I have written the boys years ago for zines, and probably will do so here for my LJ again. They're just too yummy a slash couple to ignore. :)
Say, I reread the classic World's Finest 'gay' issue over on Chris' blog. Were you the Paxwolf who commented? ;)

Check out my entry, Rainbow Superheroes. That will bring you to Chris' blog. The Comments section is on the same page at the bottom and that contains the Paxwolf comment. :)
Glad to find another Apollo/Starbuck fan! There are a few of us out there. Most fans tend to be that of the newer version, but the older version captured my heart. ;)
I hear ya about RL!

When they arrive Apollo wants to watch some dancers but Starbuck eagerly leads him by the arm into the gaming chancery.
That was a great moment. It's fun to watch the dynamics between those two, because even though Apollo is the commanding officer on the job, Starbuck is usually in control when they are off duty. They have clearly had years to work out their roles in this relationship.
And I love the scene with the spacewalk, where they end up floating in space holding hands. Yeah.

All of the links I’ve provided for the fics are the first chapters, and they all have links to the subsequent chapters if you’re so inclined to continued reading. :) All of my collected fic are in links in the left-hand column of my LJ. Please enjoy! :)
Oh, you might first want to read my Profile as it gives a brief overview of my 'take' on the DCU.

I'm looking forward to seeing those screencaps! :)

I know! Apollo is the one in charge on duty, but off-duty it's Starbuck all the way! :) And even on duty Star gets a little more leeway than most. I recall the mutiny episode in which Paul Fix's character hears Apollo trying to get Starbuck to tell him something and Fix orders Starbuck to tell his superior officer! That scene just underscored to me how Apollo lets Starbuck have that leeway.

Yay for Ion -- I've been camping out in front of the TV every Sunday evening for the past several weeks too. Glad to see another classic BSG fan (we're endangered, I fear) and I look forward to your posts on the BSG community.
Its so much fun watching those eps with my slash filter firmly in place, and seeing just how much was already there (yes, another vote for the Triad uniforms, if you can call them that). If you're looking for classic BSG fic, be sure to check out the By Your Command archives (http://sithkitten.slashcity.net/byc/main.html and http://www.bsgslash.com/) as well as Anna's web page (http://celestialdome.com/). Beyond that, you're on your own!
Welcome, welcome, welcome,

And, yes, I do fear we're an endangered species. I just can't get into the new version. Too dark and depressing IMO. The original version projected hope in the midst of their darkness.
I remember laughing the first time around seeing the show and wondering, "Do they know just how slashy this show is?" :)
Thanks for the fic recs! I have sampled those archives and found quite a few gems.
Thank you for the welcome! :)

I hate thinking how many fics were lost when geocities went down. Some of the older fandoms only had them posted there. D:
Given how reserved Apollo is, his behaviour with Starbuck ~screams devotion. Starbuck, of course, makes no pretense.

Yes, I'm a member of bsgslash and I've perused that wonderful archive!

It's really a shame about Geocities, because as you say, a lot of pre-LJ stuff was lost. :(

LOL! True, Starbuck lets it all hang out! ;)
I didn't even mention The Hand Of God episode in which Apollo brings Sheba, Cassie and Starbuck to the Celestial Dome, and at the end of the episode, it's just Apollo and Starbuck there after Starbuck goes along on a near-suicide mission with Apollo to blow up a Cylon basestar.
