All the stars look down
And twinkle in the sky
As below, mankind
Goes about
Wailing and woeing,
And the stars look down.

ALL THE STARS LOOK DOWN

Diana gazed up at the stars. Somewhere out in all that vastness were her two men, one missing and one desperately searching for him. She rubbed her arms. It was a cold autumn night and she was more accustomed to warm Paradise Island nights, though she was adapting.

I need your warmth, my loves. I wish to be in your embraces in front of a roaring fire in the hearth or in our bed.

The wind blew as moonlight streamed down, silvering the leaves of the trees as Diana shivered. Once she might have prayed to Athena or Aphrodite but hard centuries of suffering had hardened her heart. Perhaps someday she might again, but for now she trusted in her Human companions. Sighing, she went back into the house.

Bruce rocked in the comfortable rocking chair as moonlight streamed in through the windows of the library. The silvery rays shimmered on the ocean, the soft sounds of waves lapping the shore soothing, or it usually was, but not tonight.

Bruce had been glad of the patrols being busy lately. Being alone with his thoughts was not good. He could barely sleep. He was becoming ragged around the edges.

Be safe, Clark. Be safe.

He rocked faster, trying to calm his nerves. All his usual meditation techniques were not working.

How can I calm myself when I’m worried sick?

He didn’t speak about his worries to Dick or Alfred. It wasn’t necessary. They were worried, too.

Dick was maintaining a cheerful presence, but there were days when even he was gloomy. It was partly due to adolescent moodiness, which was a lot less than most for which Bruce was grateful, but Dick’s gloom was largely worry for Clark.

Alfred appeared unperturbed, but Bruce knew better. His old friend was baking up a storm, a sure sign that he was stressed. Alfred baked on a regular basis, but when he rolled out pies, cakes, and turnovers like he was the chief baker on an assembly line, Bruce knew that he was worried.

At least we get a lot of delectables out of the deal, he thought with a slight smile.

He continued rocking, listening to the sound of the sea.

Jonathan and Martha sat on their porch swing, tightly holding hands as they gazed up at the stars. Neither one spoke. They had held vigils like this before, too many times, and prayed that the son that had just been returned to them would not be lost to them again. As the crickets chirped on this clear autumn night, they continued swinging.

Hippolyta looked grimly up at Destiny. The Goddess swirled in an array of rainbow mists, her pale blue eyes placid as silver-gold hair floated around her face. In that moment, Hippolyta hated her.

It was not Destiny’s fault. She was cursed with Seeing but could not Speak unless asked. Hippolyta knew some of the shape of the future, and it was inevitable that not all would survive.

But do I ask about the fate of my daughter and her Beloveds? Is it better to know or not know? They are all Warriors. They understand these things.

The temple was quiet, the brazier on the altar flanked by lit candles. Firelight flickered on the marble walls and pillars. Destiny waited patiently for the Queen to speak further questions.

Hippolyta bowed. “No more questions,” she whispered, and Destiny nodded and vanished into the rainbow mists.

Lex stared out at the stars, Jamie curled up against him in their bed. He was basking in the afterglow of their lovemaking, and he was grateful for Jamie’s peaceful slumber. He stroked the shining blond hair of his slave, eternally grateful to Bruce for gifting Jamie to him.

His thoughts turned to Bruce. His old friend had sounded terse on the phone yesterday. He hoped that everything was all right.

Bruce had still not acknowledged whether or not Clark was Kryptonian, and Lex didn’t expect him to do so. It was far too risky. Besides, Lex liked the idea of knowing and Bruce knowing that he knew, but neither one openly acknowledging it. It was just the sort of game he liked to play.

Kathy snuggled close to Lois with Selina wrapped around her from behind. The warmth of silken flesh was sweet and she felt relaxed.

Lois had come into town solely for some ‘girl time’, as she called it, though she was working on a hot story. She couldn’t divulge it but was like a bulldog on the scent. Kathy pitied anyone trying to keep a secret from her.

As Kathy luxuriated in her sexy sandwich, she pondered Batman’s mood. Never the most communicative of men, he seemed especially subdued when she had met him earlier that night. Even Robin didn’t seem to sparkle as much.

I hope everything’s all right.

She breathed in the scent of Lois’ hair as she yawned and fell asleep.

Lionel smirked. The female slave he had enjoyed tonight was wrapped around him, which was a little reward for pleasuring him. If she had been less-than-stellar, he would have kept her chained, her arms over her head and kneeling on the bed. He had gotten a little carried away with the whip but the healing cream worked wonders. He gently slid a think baton in-and-out of her vagina, smiling as she moaned in her sleep. Her breasts were small but pert, and her ass easily accommodated him.

The brothel was the finest in Metropolis. It was on par with The Red Velvet Swing in Gotham. This one, The Green Door, specialized in catering to exotic tastes, which suited Lionel just fine.

The slave’s blond hair reminded him of Lex’s slave. Lionel had fantasized about spreading those luscious cheeks and ramming in, or spreading the slave’s legs and using the baton in his ass. Even better, whip him and watch as he shuddered, the slave’s cock coming erect as Lionel took him from behind.

His cock twitched and he smiled. He might still do all those things, but he had refrained from taking the little minx. This one was especially significant to Lex, who regrettably was a sentimentalist. Lionel would have at least occasionally chained the slave to a pillar in the foyer or on the front veranda without a stitch of clothing to amuse the security guards and other freemen on staff, but Lex kept the strumpet clothed. He also rarely let his slave out of his sight.

Lionel kept up the rhythm of the baton. He would have to consider just why he hadn’t taken Jamie. He had always poached before and Lex had grown resigned to it. He had threatened dire consequences, but of course that didn’t bother Lionel.

Hmm, maybe it’s because I think the slave is good for Lex. For one thing, Jamie distracts him often enough so that he misses certain…machinations…of mine. Very useful, he smirked. I might feint toward his strumpet. The poor thing is so skittish!

Lionel smiled, a smile that would have struck terror in his business rivals and would have put his son on alert.

Distracted, yes. He never caught on to my investigations into the Kryptonian Control Committee. Those documents I bribed for were very interesting.

Lionel laughed and pinched his slave’s nipple, waking her up. He pushed the baton in and she moaned. Yanking her head back by her long, shining blond hair, he purred, “Suck me off, whore.” He positioned himself and she took his cock into her mouth, moaning again as the pushed down on the baton.

“Oh, my little slut, you do want it.” He deftly twisted the baton to send waves of pleasure through her, keeping a firm grip on her hair. When he imagined Jamie’s mouth wrapped around his cock and his baton fucking his ass, Lionel came hard, spewing into the slave’s mouth as the baton grew slick with her arousal.

“Good job, my slut. As a reward I’ll spank you until you scream.” At her eager expression he laughed and lightly slapped her across the face, ordering her to fetch the paddle. She retrieved it from the cabinet filled with sex toys and draped herself across his lap as he chained her wrists behind her back. He wiped the baton off with a cloth and inserted it into her ass, her whimpers delighting him. He drew it and brought the paddle down hard on her buttocks, her scream music to his ears as he savagely pinched her nipples and thought it was a pity that Bruce’s Prize was not the one writhing beneath him, but maybe that could be arranged someday.
