As per the
results of the poll, there will be a 2010 DCU Fic/Art Bondage Challenge! Can’t get enough bondage, eh? ;)
Well, anyone who has read my Epic,
Rainbow’s Freedom, knows that I enjoy a good bondage story! ;)
A good example of art that fits this Challenge is
rai_daydreamer’s
Pink Ribbons.
The complete Master List is
here. Anyone interested in making a banner, sign up here at the
BradyGirl_12 Banners Project.
This Challenge is meant to explore the different aspects of bondage from light and playful between consenting lovers all the way through to actual slavefic. There are good possibilities for psychological studies here as well as action and other elements. There are plenty of choices for everyone as to what you want to write or draw!
You voted to run this Challenge throughout the year. The theme could inspire people to write longer fics or create a series of art/icons/manips/wallpapers/banners.
I’ll start things off with posting
Rainbow’s Freedom, since Arc 6’s first chapter was just posted on my journal. For a multi-chaptered work like this, you need only post a general header (the summary is general for the entire arc, your characters/pairings are the main ones) to start. If you’re not sure of how many chapters you’ll have, just post ‘Multiple Chapters’ instead of the number. See my example below.
If your series is made up of less multi-chapters or single chapters, each entry into your series can be entered into the Challenge. For example, my Bruce/Dick series,
Collared, will consist of one-chapter entries (or at least a lot less multiple chapters than
Rainbow’s Freedom). I probably will post Collared II soon, and if I decide to post a third entry of the series, that will be a separate entry into this Challenge. All separate segments are eligible as long as they’re posted in 2010.
First, the Usual Suspects:
Genre: Truly an eclectic mix for a Challenge like this! Anything goes: Drama, humor, hurt/comfort, etc. AU could be a biggie in this one. :)
Pairings (or threesomes, etc. ;) ): Slash, het, gen (this is DCU but if you’d like to write Clex, hey, that fits into the DCU!).
Rating: G all the way through to NC-17. Any length!
Continuity/‘Verses: Comics, ‘toon, movie, and TV (especially Smallville!).
Posting dates: Starts immediately and runs through until December 31, 2010. If you’ve posted anything the first week of January, that’s eligible.
The usual request: please link all contributions here on this page. If I get enough entries, I will make a Master List.
The rules are simple:
Choose one Section to fit your story or art (and when I say art, I also am including icons, manips, wallpapers and banners). If you contribute multiple entries, you can sample all the sections or stick with the same one. Up to you! Please note which Section you are using by using the line Challenge Category (see example in my entry below). You may wind up blending certain Sections as you’ll see (needless to say, this and Warnings are important for this Challenge):
Section A (Playful)
This Section is for stories/art that are for games between lovers or consenting adults: Bruce tying up Clark or Dinah playing dominiatrix for Ollie. ;) And remember, Diana has that lasso! It used to compel people to obey. Could be used that way again. ;) Master/slave games can be played here, but if the games are a perpetual lifestyle, they belong in Section D.
Section B (Paid)
This Section is for stories/art that are darker in theme. A character is driven to pay for his/her bondage with a stranger (lots of AU possibilities here).
Section C (Captives)
In the course of superhero duty, the heroes often wind up as captives. This Section is for stories/art that show situations such as being captured by Lex or the Joker, or by aliens during a war and ending up as prisoners. It could lead to slavery, but not always.
Section D (Slave-By-Consent)
There are adults who enter into contracts with other adults and actually live as Master/slave. They can maintain an outward life (go to work, for example) but in private live the roles of Master and slave in our everyday world.
Section E (Slavefic) (Or just Slave for visual graphics)
This Section is for stories/art that are actual slavefic or art/visual graphics. The slave has not consented to his/her condition. This Section is ripe for AUs of all kinds: alien invasion/kidnapping by slavers, historical settings, futurefic, a different world completely. For instance,
Rainbow’s Freedom uses the concept of slavery practiced on Earth in the 23rd-century which was a natural progression of that particular universe’s history. You could really get into world-building here! :)
Don’t forget! Wonder Woman’s Lasso used to compel people to tell the truth but also to obey the holder’s every order! If you’ve been thinking of writing Diana fic or using her in art, how’s that for a start? ;)
So get those whips, chains, and restraints out! Ready to play? ;)
