Annihilation Wave: The Takeover

Nov 08, 2006 09:26

I went to bed dreaming of a better America. And when I woke up, I found my dream was coming true.

The Democrats have swept the House of Representatives with 26 pickups so far, bringing their total to 228. The Senate is still locked in a brutal contest, with Jim Webb and Jon Tester holding razor-thin leads over two of the worst of the worst, Felix ( Read more... )

I refuse to think of this as a victory.. just the beginning of a massive cleanup after someone puked after an all night (five year) boozefest.

I'm still in shock that so many people would vote for an outed racist in Virginia.. but then I live in LieberLand, so I'm not one to throw stones. :(

Here's hoping for a takeover of the Senate.. long time comin'! Enough with this Republican culture of corruption and perversion!

I wish Ohio had the same "get out of our lives" attitude as AZ. Residents of this state voted against slot machines that would send money to education and in favor of the Smoking Police that will cost residents of this state $5 million a year and put more restrictions on personal liberty.

I knew it wasn't going to be settled until today at earliest, and I was still fuming from being kept out in the rain at Tryst. :) Sue me. :)

That was chiefly why I wanted to go--to talk to the bigtime bloggers and do some self-promoting. The whole thing turned out to be really silly--CNN furiously covering a bunch of people tapping away at keyboards--but damn, the networking potential was off the chart.

I stuck to MSNBC almost completely myself. Between Keith Olbermann and Bob Sullivan, they're the only cable news network I give a crap about. :)

one of my LJ friends is arguing with me in my journal saying that we voted out centerist repubs in favor of kooky lefists dems.

I think I'm doing ok.

Do you know of any links where I can get backup for my info (cause I remember reading it but be damned if I can recall where)

Wow, you actually use my name. After two calls and a text, I was beginning to think I was persona non grata!

To correct you slightly, we're the only state to turn down a marriage amendment. You may not like everything that goes on in Arizona, but when we say that we want government out of our lives-- we generally mean it.

My phone is sitting cozily in my jacket, so I humbly apologise if I missed your calls, man. You know I love you. ;)
