i thought morally right Sam was awesome this ep!! Poor Sam, but he is doing the right thing!

Amnesia can be really satisfying when done right. I even liked the twitchy cutting.

It feels so relieving to have the real Sam back. *exhales* Last episode was great (the hug!), but this episode really feels like he's back--perhaps it was the contrast of Robo!Sam with Sam that helped throw the contrast into sharp relief.

I even liked the twitchy cutting.

When I first read this I had to think twice about it. Oo, twitchy cutting. But I'm really pretty sure you're talking about the editing. :) I loved it, too! This director's style reminds me a little of Kim Manners' without the swirly camera moves. *celebrates*

I know, right!

I've mostly enjoyed this season - if only for the sheer relief of the fresher feel after the overblown melodrama of the apocalypse. I've appreciated being able to feel a strong sense of direction and enjoyed the intrigue even while missing the brotherly bond enormously. But this was the first episode in what feels like years that held me totally gripped, completely invested - and boy, that was some twist in the tail. I wasn't expecting them to go there yet!

I'm so glad you've been enjoying this season. I've had a hard time connecting with it. I have to agree, having the apocalypse gone does make it feel like there's more breathing room.

But this was the first episode in what feels like years that held me totally gripped, completely investedThis was the first episode since "Swan Song" that I actually sat there staring at the TV without moving. This is the first episode in I can't remember how long where I was truly confused (in a pleasant and happily surprised way) about what was going on (re: arachne!Roy running around when the female arachne had been beheaded). As soon as the camera was stuck on a close-up of Dean saying everything was alright, I knew that Sam was going to collapse, but I was blindsided by the fact that we actually got to see Sam in Hell this early (but to be fair we are half way through the season so I don't know if it can be considered "early" anymore). But, OMG, SPN totally surprised me this week! Just when I'd almost given up hope, we finally get some old ( ... )

SO enormously blindsided by that ending - I really never thought Show would go there mid-season. Can't wait to find out what happens next - I am completely and utterly spoiler-free for the remainder of the season!

ALL YOU SAID. SO MUCH AWESOME.

Oh god, SAM'S PANTS. Alsoalsoalso, if I saw right, Sam had his machete hanging on his hip and it totally reminded me of Jared's F13 where Clay wore the knife but never got to use it. I love it when they can right that wrong in SPN and still have Jared wearing tight pants. *focuses on the relevant*

Very pretty episode - I hope people come squee about it at spnematography!

Pants. Narrghhh. I must have a thing for them.

it totally reminded me of Jared's F13

We must stop with the brain twin thing because I thought that, too! Only Sam's knife is bigger than Clay's knife. ;) I always thought that was lame in F13, esp. with the epic Jason/Clay/sister-what's-her-name fight in the barn you'd think Clay would've been smart enough to use his weapon against the psycho killer trying to stuff him into the wood chipper (but I can't remember now if Clay lost his knife before that scene or not). Whoever said horror movies made sense, though?

I'm coming to squee over there soon! T has croup and now her eyes are swollen almost shut as of this morning (which may or may not be related to her nice little virus). I swear, it's been sickness after sickness after sickness these past 3 weeks. She's a sickness magnet apparently. -_-

--because I thought that, too!

I remember that we talked about the insanity of Clay not using the knife when the movie came out. And yeah, Sam had a machete where Clay only had a knife. Clearly Sam >> Clay. ;)

I'm getting a feeling that I have to watch F13 now. PANTS.

She's a sickness magnet apparently.

:( I hope that she gets better soon! And I hope that this means that she's going to be super-immune to everything when she's older.

PANTS.

That's going to be my new universal WINWINWIN code word from now on. Whenever anything is AWESOME that will get a PANTS rating (pants = really pretty awesome, or Pants = super great awesome, or PANTS = supersonic fangirl squee awesome).

Speaking of PANTS (as in supersonic fangirl squee awesome), I just got some intel regarding a certain future SPN episode we were talking about. HOMG. My/our wish list is COMING TRUE!!!!!!!!! PANTSTASTICALLY AWESOME! \o/\o/\o/ Psst, I will tell you if you want to know, but didn't want to spoil you without your consent. No non-con spoilering going on here! ;)

I swear they're trying to kill SPN here in Canada! I finally! got the chance to sit down and watch on Friday ... and the tv station said 'Supernatural will not be seen tonight'. OMG. They showed it on Saturday. I was busy. Go figure. I'll just watch it on the computer as usual and hope that station fails miserably. I mean, yeah, it's only TV but how often is hubby working nights and son gone out with friends, housework done, junk food available and sitting right there?! There was zero else on! End rant. I'll catch it later. Sometime.
Sorry T is sick. Sucks for the whole family. We've been fortunate this year. Going to Great Wolf Lodge Wed-Thur., sort of a family Valentines thing. Mac's bringing a couple of friends. We got my parents a room for my my mom's birthday so they'll be there too and we'll take her out for a nice dinner and hopefully get her to ride at least one ride. It's hard for her to climb the stairs now but we hope she'll do it like last year.
Hugs to T, hope she feels better soon!

That totally sucks! Talk about a nice evening to sit down and watch TV and then ... poof ... nothing on. Frustrating!

That sounds like a nice way to spend V-day. That's so nice that you get to spend it with your parents, too. I wish that my parents lived closer.

We just brought T into Urgent Care this afternoon--one of her eyes has an infection. Poor kiddo. After having that barfy stomach virus 2 weeks ago, then her first ever case of diaper rash earlier this week (screaming/crying/writhing around in pain), then getting another viral thing and croup, this eye thing is just typical for us lately. I can't wait until health returns to our house.

Wasn't last week's episode hilarious!?!? I think the entire S6 was worth it just for that. :D
