Multiple injections to the face does not a happy Ellen make.

Over the past few days, there's been this pimplish thing on my face, and when it started doing unpimplish things I went to the doctor. Turns out it's probably drug-resistent Staph, hanging out runder my left eye in a location that osteo-Patrick likes to call "The Infectious Triangle of ( Read more... )

Awe, that sounds quite trying. Hopefully you are on the up-and-up, though! Best recovery wishes!

On an unrelated note, I may be making a rather sudden trip to LA in the next week or two with a friend of mine from Austria, I'll keep you posted ;)

On a more related note, the article you posted said that the spread of Staph can be reduced by "washing your hands or genitals," apparently, washing your hands AND your genitals does nothing?

Ouch! I don't even want to think about injections under the eye - you're awesome for going to work after something like that! I don't know if the doctor would even do the incision without the anesthetic - the face is notoriously twitchy, so usually the only way to keep people from twitching during the minor surgery is to completely numb the area.... Your doctor probably already told you this, but if you get a fever, call him or go to the ER (I saw a patient who didn't go right away after noticing she had a fever even though she knew she had a MRSA abscess, and ended up spending a week or so longer in the hospital than if she'd gone soon).
