I hate, hate, hate doing garage sales. My sister is orchestrating this one at Mom's house this weekend. I added a few items, a couple rocking chairs, vintage hats and other stuff that has been packed away for 10 years, but it's really all them. Had MAJOR case of nerves today working on the gown. Good thing I try it on repeatedly during the assembly. I had cut out all the lining bits, put the bodice/gusset/sleeve lining together then the same of the silk. Done.
I re-drafted the sleeve a couple times. Not from scratch but just tweaking it; moving the seam, copying part of it from another pattern, trying to figure out how to squeeze everything I need from the fabric I have without coming up short or leaving more than just scraps and cabbage. My heraldic banner is done! I won't mention how many years ago I started it. This is only my second one. I made the first as soon as  my Arms passed. Took it to events, hung it on my pavilion. Then the red began to look decidedly pink, so I stopped carrying it around. Just need a dowel or curtain rod for the new one now. Need to get one more 6' 2x2 ( Read more... )

What a gorgeous weekend! Had a good time sitting in the sun at Melee, watching equestrian, watching heavy melees -when there weren't gigantic fighters standing in front of me.  :) Nice day all the way around. Got to chill with O & C Friday and Saturday nights since I crashed at their house. Just really nice.
