Two more weeks of work before one week of vacation! Ahem....Beaufort, SC...Ahem. Beaufort is actually closer to Savannah, but most of my experence is with Charleston. The old slave market is always fun (note: slaves were never sold at the slave market, it was named because that is where the slaves and freedmen had their market.) Both Charleston and Savannah have a lot of history and I would highly recommend a carraige tour of either city. Also the walking ghost tours are fun, I don't really beleive in ghosts, but the lowcountry is known for its ghost lore. The food in both cities is good, so definitely try to go to local restaurants rather than national chains. Both cities (and Beaufort) have been around in some form since before the Revolutionary war, so there are all kind of historical things, but if you have anything in particular in mind, I can offer more specific stuff.

Seriously, What days are you coming, because you'll be only about a 45 minute drive from Beaufort (about the same distance as from Charleston)
