We are so on the same page, Borgmama. :) I actually loved the Plucky Pennywhistle episode, especially the unicorn with the rainbows coming out of its ass, but again... SAM. I don't like when Sam's issues are minimized or disappeared. Perhaps they have to or the guy would be a blob of jello and nonfunctional, but it reminds me of how Tolkien created Frodo to be suffering horribly...and then you really didn't see it until the very, very end. Peter Jackson, IMHO, did better with it - more suffering, sooner

In the finale of Season 6 both Dean and Bobby took a header off the top of a staircase over a metal rail and landed on metal tables that buckled as they hit them...aaand...nothing. They should have been broken!
It's been so long since I read LOTR that I don't remembermuch of what happened to Frodo. I always think of how stalwart Sam was!
