Saw Race to Witch Mountain on the weekend with Netty. *wriggles* Thoroughly enjoyed it and I am totally getting it on dvd- or making someone buy it for me. :D
I'm not even pretending it has award-winning merit of any kind, but who cares? The movies that win Oscars are generally weepy and tragic and involve people suffering hardship and loss and

I wanna see this. Wonder if I can convince the family that my survival depends on hitting the theater...

Lol, I TOTALLY thought of fellow fangirls when she was babbling on about aliens and all, it was so very cute- but yes, we would be so much more calm and matter-of-fact if we ever met extra-terrestrial beings, I'm sure. Like, when the Rock was freaking out at Sara levitating stuff? I just wanted to thwack him- 'this is an awesome moment in human history, dude, try to be cooler!'

Oh I LOL when we learn the Alex is apparently afraid of heights.
I like that they left it sorta openeded (watch the scene during the ending credits) so there could be a possible sequel (which I certainly hope isn't nearly as lame as the sequel to the original. Return to Witch Mountain was pretty lame).

AHAHA! I don't have the guts to cheer in movie theaters, I'm always afraid someone will come and bash me, but I love the image of everyone giving you sidelong glances as you're geeking out!
She is super stunning in this movie, my attention was devoted thusly: 80% to Carla's awesomeness and 20% to the plot, lol. It was just so fantastic to see her on the big screen. *wriggles*

Great scene! [Okay, so they're ALL great when she's in it, but whatever]
I was like, 'OMG, get out of the tunnel! It's probably the launch tube for a missile or something!' and then two seconds later, they had to scramble out to avoid a scorching hot demise. I'm proud of my ability to pick cliches. *beams*
Yesss, I enjoyed the end credit sequences, it totally sets up the possibility of a sequel. *prays the movie is a box office success* Would next year be too soon for a sequel? *iz greedy*

As for geekin' out on Carla in the opening credits, yes I did. I'd do it again too. LOL
The end credits were cute. And if they make a sequel, they had better get Carla back as Alex or I won't see it. It's that simple. LOL

You know, it hadn't even crossed my mind that they WOULDN'T get her back. But now you remind me that I saw the previews for the second Night at the Museum and it has a new chick in it! I don't know what happened to Carla's character in the first, but I was surprised at the new face. If they replace her in this franchise as well, I'm so boycotting it. *nodnod*

I stopped carying about The Oscars a looong time ago.... about them and The Emmys- the people who give those awards are just driving me nuts....

Yeah, I don't give a damn about 'official movie awards' anymore. A movie can win ten Oscars/Emmys etc. etc. and still bore me to tears. Or reduce me to a teary, emotional wreck and I DON'T ENJOY THIS. Give me a humorous sci-fi/action movie any day. :D
