So, some of you know all about this, some of you know none about this, but I figure it’s time that I write things out for my own benefit if no one else’s ( Read more... )

"What if . . ." john1082 August 14 2006, 01:02:25 UTC
That question began a journey that resulted in my becoming a lawyer.

It is the worst question in the world because, if left unanswered, it will never have a true answer. It will merely remain an unanswered question that nags at you for the rest of your life.

What is the down side if you do nothing? What is the up side if you do nothing? What is he downside of choosing to move? What is the upside? You've made difficult decisions before, but I believe that you learned that nothing is unrecoveable.

Might I suggest a "trial" visit, staying with Anne. Perhaps a month or so if it can be done. Two weeks might not be enough but if that is the best you can do then try that. Don't burn bridges where you are, but explore crossing new ones.

Congratulations on the new move...I'm sure you'll be fine...from my experience with you it definitely seems like you'll have no problem meeting friends.

Whereabouts in Arizona, sir? I have people (like related-to-me-by-blood people) in Phoenix and Bullhead City.

I think the "what if" can go either way. If you stay, you'll wonder "what if I had gone?" And if you go, you'll wonder "what if I had stayed?" Those questions are just part of life.

I don't really have answers for you. I considered a move earlier this year, and today I am quite glad I didn't go. I have a lot going for me here in TN right now. That doesn't mean that I'll never leave, but it does mean that I'm happy with the decision I made.

I think no matter what decision you make, you'll make the best of it. You can learn to be happy wherever you are. And if you want someone to listen to you, I'll be glad to play that role. Best of luck, buddy.

dude, omg. you and me. we're going through eXACTLY the same thing.
everything. except my city is Chicago.
I mean, everything from your friends there and here,to meeting a boy, to listening to that madonna song, I relate 100%
it's crazy.
but just always trust your own instincts no matter what. if you honestly feel you've expired your possibilities in one place, go to another. always have enough faith in yourself to know that you'll get by no matter what you do or how difficult the obsticle.
and ultimately, take comfort in the fact that there are lots of other people going through the exact same thing at the exact same time you are. (like me).
good luck in whatever decision you end up making.
