Hi LJ! I have been kinda ignoring you this past week or so. I blame dance performances and slumpy biorhythms (seriously they ALL plunged at the same effing time--what is this shit?!).

Anyway, here's my quick quick thoughts on TV...

Friday Night Lights 5.4

Oh yay, I'm not alone in my changed feelings about Quinn! Yes, I worry for him!! Deb deserves at least ONE boyfriend who ends up being not either dead or a psychokiller. :/ I like to imagine that Deb makes Quinn a better person. :p I certainly think he makes him loyal and I think the fact that he admires her professionally brings out the best in HIM professionally.

I guess they're doing that? The SV writers I mean? I don't know... I couldn't honestly say, I feel so detached from the show. It's not the Clark/Lois that I love that they show us most of the time so I just mostly end up making *confused face* and focusing on other things... like Oliver's ever-reliable torso. :D

It goes without saying that I'm still loving it all. But! OMG, how dumb are the Salvatore brothers to leave that guy staked to the door? CLEARLY he was not dead.

I was just waiting for Damon to rip his head off to finish the job, it would only have taken a second once he was already out of action gah. Plus how random is it to just go off and leave the guy staked and hanging off the door! I know the place was supposed to be out of the way, but still...

and had the most hilarious Crichton moment of all time when he found it impossible to believe that an Australian would not know who won the superbowl. LOOOOOOOOOOOL. Dude, no one CARES about your sport here!

Heh I have a review book of Farscape that pointed to that as being a bit of an oops moment as it was meant to be a hint to Crichton of things not being right, and yet no one outside America does care about the superbowl...

I think that's one of the things I love about Farscape (apart from the awesome that's Aeryn, and by extension Aeryn/Criton) - that it's so resoundingly not-American.

Oh me too. From what I've heard they did originally plan for the male and female leads to both be American, and casting was looking for a 20 year old American for Aeryn. But really it makes so much better with John being the American surrounded by this totally alien culture. It would have felt a little off if Aeryn had also spoken with an American accent

Oh goodness! I'm so glad she didn't have an American accent!

My reaction to that was "This is why you should've burnt the body after staking him." But apparently powers which are specific to the Originals are shrouded in mystery even to vampire folklore experts (like Slater) and people who've had dealings with them (like Rose and Trevor) -- so I'll allow that they had no reason to believe that Elijah could come back after being staked and I'll forgive it before I forgive them for being stupid enough to lock the moonstone in the tomb with Katherine (I mean: just why would you even do that).

Yeah... weirdly the body bothers me more! Intellectually that makes no sense but it must be something in me that just thinks if you bother to kill a Really Scaryass Vampire, you would spend more than 3 seconds making sure he was really dead. And burning ANY body seems like a good idea to me!
