Vid chats plan: hosting

Thank you to everyone who left suggestions for vidding chat topics. Anyone may leave suggestions there at any time.

My plan for hosting is quite simple and mostly consists of me making puppy eyes at anyone willing to do so.

Haha, that's actually the worst possible weekend for me. I'm pretty much booked from the 30th of October through the 2nd of November.

No worries! Your flexibility of topic is greatly appreciated! :) My plan is to line up a schedule for October and November for now and then revisit, so I'll keep you for the second wave if that's ok, and we can firm up a date/topic in a couple of months.

I too am somewhat swamped with fannish projects at the moment, but I'd be happy to host a multifandom vidding chat at some point a little further down the line.

Poo for LJ eating comments. I would definitely be interested in hosting a chat. Have I missed the first one? What tech are we using to host?

As far as topics go, here are some ideas...

1. Vidding for a small fandom and appreciating vids in fandoms you don't participate in

2. Concrit for vids: how to give and solicit feedback, why we don't get as much as fic writers and fan artists

3. Legal issues in vidding: guidelines for fair use, using disclaimers in vids, responding to takedowns (since I am an IP lawyer I love this topic but I know it might be dry for others)

4. Vidding tech: which programs do you use, why, did you ever contemplate switching

I'll let you know if I come up with others...

No, you haven't missed the start! We're going to be resuming them starting in November. You can see the first round of them here (scroll to the older entries).

I'm going to go drop your topic ideas over on the topic collection post, so if others stumble in to suggest topics they can second ideas they like. These are all great ideas!

It seems like with your expertise it would be awesome for you to host one on legal issues... I'd personally be interested in that! And I'm sure some other people would to, especially the opportunity to hear different vidders' views and experiences on it in the comments.

But any of these would be great. In terms of dates, I'm trying not to stagger the chats so there's one new one every weekend, and any weekend from 21 November on is free at this stage. :) Just let me know!
