Somehow I have managed to actually finish the OpArt baby blanket on time. Well, actually I'm casting off, so it's all but finished. And I still have to weave in the yarn ends.

Here's Miss Emily, most precious kitten goddess, modeling the blanket as is:

Personally, I would soak it and pin the heck out of it and let it dry and see how that works before doing anything as drastic as steaming it. Killing it limps the fabric so you don't want to do that if you don't have to.

Decor responds really well to a good soak. Use a little Woolite or a mild detergent. Sink it in the water and let it get good and SODDEN. You want to get all that water-resisting wool wet. I usually do this in the tub or laundry sink, then pull the plug and rinse. I leave it in the tub and let gravity drain out a lot of the water.

Then I pull it out and roll it in towels, loosely, and dance on it. If it's a huge blanket, use an old duvet or blanket instead of a towel, then you can just throw that in the dryer or hang it up From there, I often block it without pinning on the bed and let it dry. Halfway through, I'll shake it and flip it and re-block it. IF it's still being a pain, I will pin it down, but for stuff that needs to survive use, I like to see how it works out just flat-dried.

Unless you kill the fabric, the first time the recipient washes it the blocking is gone. ...but as mentioned, Decor washes really well; I'd just wash it, stretch it out so the edges are straight, and let it dry. My Decor sweaters I just kind of drape over the stair-rail and let hang a little.

It's a wonderful giving yarn, and will stand up well to use. Still my go-to for most things worsted.

And your blanket looks wonderful! I love non-traditional colours for babies.
