I love all of the new shows you love! TVD definitely ends up being much better than you think it will be when you first start watching. They churn out so much plot and action in almost every episode that you think eventually they're going to run out of story...but they don't!
ITA about Misfits, Game of Thrones and Eureka. I was disappointed in TB last season but almost all of the people I know that follow the books say that book 4 is a big favorite, so I'm looking forward to seeing how that plays out.

EXACTLY. I'm really glad I stuck through to season 2 of TVD.
I was disappointed with TB last season too--it definitely felt more like 'how much more crazy shit can we pile on this mess just because we can' than 'let's tell a compelling and cohesive story'. But I'm still going to give S4 a shot!
I love Caroline! She's my favorite thing about the show. The first half of this past season was fantastic for her. Hope she gets another great arc next season.
Jason Momoa is not my usual type at all, but damn I may have to look into Stargate or something. Whew. I love pretty much all the women on the tv show and loved Dany and Arya in the book. Tyrion too.
Caroline turned out so interesting! I didn't dislike her in S1 but I wasn't invested in her either. Lo and behold she gets a good arc and becomes that amazing combination of strong, broken, lonely and fierce that I loooooove in a character.
Stargate Atlantis is really fun. It's like all the goofy and sci-fi bits of BSG without the religion/politics/angst. It's a bit slow in its first season, but it really picks up in seasons 2-4 (right around when Jason Momoa shows up... :P ). If you've got the time to invest in a new show, I totally recommend it.
I just watched season 1 of Vampire Diaries last month and LOVE IT! I just started watching season 2. JOY! I watch just about all of your summer shows. Looking forward to True Blood tomorrow. A friend and I have been catching up via HBO on demand and will watch the season 3 finale tomorrow. Book 4 was my favorite as well (I'm currently reading book 8). I'm loving Melanie, Tadd & Jess on SYTYCD.
Just wait--TVD gets EVEN BETTER! I liked season 1 just fine, but I really enjoyed the second season.
I don't have favorites so far on this sytycd season (maybe Melanie and Sasha? but that's mainly because I think they're the strongest dancers not because I love their personalities). Gimme a few more weeks and I'm sure I will :D
