I love it when I think of something really funny in public and just start grinning or laughing out loud. The strange looks are great. There's actually a brewery near my house that serves an Oatmeal Stout Shake. I've always thought about ordering it, but haven't followed through on that yet.
I'm jealous about the long ride. It sounds like it was a good time! It's a bit on the hot side here for long bike rides, and I think I have to get a new, more comfortable bike seat before I do any rides over 40 minutes long.
Torpid weekends are the best. I had to drag my hung-over self out of bed this morning to watch ants. Quite painful. I'll be very, very happy when this part of the project is over (9 more days!).
Woohoo, the end is in sight! I foresee a torpid week or two for you in about nine days. (:
Oatmeal Stout Shake, eh? Sounds interesting. If you do get brave enough, let me know how it is. I'd try it myself, but I don't think I'm up for a cross-continental bike ride yet. (:
It was hot here, too, and rather humid. We stopped frequently for water and shade breaks, including a stop at a convenience store for slushies and bottles of sport drink since we'd both finished off our water supplies by then. They also had blueberry cocktail, I'd never had it before but it tasted amazing! Earthy, like grape juice, and yet a unique sort of flavour.
Aye, it's a lot of fun. (: People never know how to react. Some smile back in a "I-must-know-this-guy" sort of way, others avert their eyes. Amusement of their reactions helps keep the smile going, amusingly enough. (:
