I love Anne Rice's earlier books: Interview with the vampire, The Vampire Lestat, The queen of the damned, and even (for comic relief) Tale of the body thief but as some of you already know I completely dislike her later books (anything of hers after 1995

See, I read Interview with a Vampire and Vampire Lestat YEARS ago (we're talking almost ten.) I didn't get around to reading Armand until a year or so ago, so I had forgotten a lot of the stuff from Interview. I missed all the discrepancies.

Mainly, I hated Tale of the Body Thief so much I was scared to read Memnoch. There was about five years in between the reading of those two books.

However, I LOVED Memnoch. It was just so interesting to me. I think the fact that I have a huge love for heaven/hell type stories was the reason I liked it so much. I just think that it's so interesting to read about what people think is going to happen after we die.

Armand was lackluster for me, though. It just got a little boring. It wasn't like Interview or Lestat. And I though I didn't notice the inconsistencies, it still didn't seem right to me. Like I knew things didn't match up but didn't know what.
