So.

I seem to have acquired a diploma-shaped thing.

O.O!!!!!!!!

Guys, if you want to give me a graduation present, leave me drabble prompts please! It's a long flight home tomorrow, and a longer few weeks after that as that whole Real World Terror thing starts to hit, and so write-y distractions would be useful for both.

Of course there was no question of sending to Martha, who was engaged in saving the world in Wales and could not be distracted. It would be letting the vampire have things exactly his own way. Anyways, Mary felt quite sure that she and Dickon and Colin could take care of the matter, once properly armed with crosses, stakes, and water that if not quite holy had at least spent a great deal of time in proximity to Dickon. Colin, of course, was all for the scheme, and though Dickon was not so sanguine, he did have to admit it would be an excellent thing if they could get Sue Ellen back by dinner-time so Mrs. Sowerby wouldn’t have to worry ( ... )

*DEAD*

*AND NOT IN THE VAMPIRIC SENSE EITHER*

**

It is a little-known fact that Lilias Craven did not actually die from falling off the swing and going into a hard labour. That is, on the eventful evening, Lilias Craven jumped off the swing, dusted three vampires and drove another to flee. Trauma from the attack induced her labour, and a little-regarded injury, compounded with it, took away the Slayer's life.

In the aftermath of this unhappy incident, the Watcher's Council never again permitted a Watcher to wed his Slayer.

New prompt for you: Mary is quite surprised to find Uncle Archibald practising with a crossbow.

In the normal order of things, Colin Craven would have been trained up as a Watcher himself; but as his father had cut all ties with the Council in the aftermath of Mrs Craven's unfortunate death, Colin had been very carefully kept away from the whole business. Mr Craven gave orders that the words ‘vampire,’ ‘Slayer,’ ‘Watcher’, should never again be spoken within the walls of Misselthwaite Manor. He burnt his diaries in the library grate, and set out for the Continent. There Mr Craven made a habit of taking long walks after dark, and while he always carried stakes and crosses on his person, he should not have been displeased to be killed by a creature of the night ( ... )
