It does get a little old that he gets cranky when she does her job. But then, she gets cranky when things take a turn for the darker side of gray. It works?

Oh, and have you read Fantasy In Death? Probably for the first time it's when I've really really really felt bad for the initial vic. I guess it's because he wanted to go into business for himself and I wanna do the same with a bookstore. XD FiD is in paperback; I love the In Death series but I refuse to buy hardback as...well... I read them too fast. >.> So it's worth the extra wait but not the money ( ... )

I'm less annoyed when Eve gets grumpy, because mostly she gets grumpy because she knows she's the one who has to cover everything up rather than anything else. Roarke doesn't necessarily get grumpy because the law is intruding on his life, he gets grumpy because Eve is trying to prove he didn't do it and apparently that means she didn't trust that he didn't do it or something like that. I mean, jeez, man, the only time she legitimately believed you were a suspect was for about five minutes after she'd met you. Chill the fuck out.

I've only read a few of the books-- the first three and Vengeance, basically-- but I fully intend to go through all of them. And I forgive small errors because Peabody is freaking awesome.
