Quick Update

My dad is changing jobs.  That's big news, as he's worked in the same law firm since before I was born and had worked in only one firm before that (for just a short while, until he got laid off). But after 25 years of working for the firm, he's changing to a new one at the end of the month. My dad's not talked a whole lot about the change (I first ( Read more... )

I always daydreamed about getting married outdoors like that--I wanted to get married in a meadow. In actuality, though, I got married in a church :-P

Anyway, that wedding sounds beautiful!

Congratulations to your dad, too!

I've wanted to get married outdoors for as long as I can remember. Who knows what will actually end up happening, though!

I was at my cousin's wedding last summer and totally loved everything. However, my parents apparently thought it was really poorly organized and had a great laugh over it afterwards on the way home. For example, the best man got a flattering nickname Icicle-ass. x_x I'm so proud of my parents.

Yeah, this wedding wasn't the fanciest or most organized wedding ever, but I think it went well and we had fun. My parents, if they had been there, might have thought otherwise, but whatever.

Hi! For some reason, I've never so much as peeked at your journal before, but I hope you don't mind my dropping in. :-) I had to comment because I am mildly obsessed with weddings (but also have never had a boyfriend), and this one sounded so nice! I helped behind the scenes for a friend's wedding a little over a year ago, and you're right--it is So Exhausting. But fulfilling. Also, it *is* very weird to see your peers getting married.

Hi there! I never mind anyone dropping by!

It was indeed a nice wedding. It was probably the smallest and simplest wedding I've ever been to, but it went smoothly and everyone had a lot of fun.

And it is so weird to have my peers getting married! I've started to get used to it (and this couple is a few years older than me, so it's not quite as strange as my friends my age or slightly younger who are engaged/married), but it's still odd to think about. As much as I want to get married someday (and yes, a boyfriend would be nice), I definitely don't feel ready to be married right now!

And if you have good taste, the small and simple ones can be elegant, too. :-)

And, oh Lord, I would hate to inflict myself on anyone right now--there are the little matters of finishing my degree, getting a job, and generally becoming more responsible--but I would like to get married. Say, when I'm 25.
