Yes, I have the surgery. Chances are also good that in two-five years, their chances of survival will go up.

This. There are very very very few situations where I could see myself getting an abortion but this is one of them.

Eeeeesh. Better to save one than neither, or at least to have a chance to.

The thing I would be messed up by -- the thing that made me cry to think about -- is how do you tell one of your daughters she won't be waking up from surgery ever again? If they're sharing a heart, they HAVE to pick the twin they think has the best shot, give that one the heart, and allow the other to die. You'd know which twin it was going into it. How do you tell that little girl? DO you tell her? How do you tell her sister? Ugh.
