Who's the boss? (IE: rude teenager and body mod)

Let's say, for the sake of argument, you have a 16 year old daughter. She wants her navel pierced, and has been begging for awhile. You relent, and take her to a piercing parlor (professional, at a tattoo/piercing shop). I would have taken them and walked out when they were rude in the waiting room. I don't tolerate that behavior in my kids in public and it isn't going to change once they become teenagers.

This - not only is it not going to change, I'll expect better behaviour of my teen than of my younger child.

As soon as she was shitty to me in the waiting room we would have been out the door. No piercing. No fun for a week.

it would be a long long while before i would even think about ltting my daughter get a piercing if the were to behave that way

I probably wouldn't have let it get as far as the shop's refusing service to call it off due to the behaviour.

In any case, apologise for her behaviour, and she's not getting a piercing for a long time as she's just proved she's not mature enough for one.
