For me, that's what it's all about. I try to avoid things like gift certificates or money (although with some people, that is seriously the best I can do) and go for more personal gift. Just kind of a "hey, I saw this and it made me think of you, I like thinking of you" kinda deal.
Isnt the love we share with the people we love enough?
Sometimes it is, sometimes it's not. I think the love is there all the time, gifts are just every once in a while. Just a little thank you for being there, --for the love-- in the first place.
People are homeless for hundreds of reasons. Sometimes they're lazy and unmotivated and lose their jobs and find it easier to humiliate themselves and beg for change, live off of charity, than to go back to work. Sometimes they're insane or alcoholic and can't hold a job and lose all their possessions. Sometimes they're struck with so much tragedy at once it's impossible to recover and stand up in the face of it, and the government can't/won't offer them enough help to resume their lives. All sorts of reasons.
We give gifts to make a special display of how much we care, to remind other people as well as ourselves how much we care.
so basically, if we dont have any problems in our life ... then no one would be homeless in this country. but as for the 3rd world country its completely different.
