Oh man, Stephanie supplied me with one of the greatest misheard lyrics ever today. We were in the process of formulating what I like to feel is our definitive song list for the big night, and trying to decide where to put a particular Genesis song. NO way! I just ran that through my head and I too thought it was physical... something. I never really knew what that song was called but I definitely thought the first word of the chorus was physical. Soooo, go me and Steph!!

I thought it was physical attraction, too. When I bought it at the record store, I was shocked....then I decided I liked a girl with a physical attraction just fine. I mean, a physical touch? What the hell is that?

Kevin, this is amazing. I just listened to the song on my iPod, and can hear how it could have been heard that way. That never occurred to me before. Why I write is for another reason. In 1986 I left for South Africa from Mansfield, and you and your family were there. Despite the trauma that my flight ticket had got lost in DHL, I left for the airport that day with two very distinct memories. One was that you, as a very young boy, gave me a penny ... which I treasured for years (but somehow misplaced on our move back to the USA 10 years later.) The other was that as we drove out of Steve & Debs home, to go to the airport, the song "Invisible Touch" was playing on the car radio. I never would have thought that that song would have crossed both of our paths again!
